it not how long but if u and ur girlfriend consider urself to be married to one another, call each other husband and wife, file joint tax returns, she uses ur last name ya'll are common law married if u need more info check out this website

Simply living together is not going to make you common-law spouses. Google "common law marriage in Texas", you will find some answers. Also, check this site for more info:

"Texas: A man and woman who want to establish a common-law marriage must sign a form provided by the county clerk. In addition, they must (1) agree to be married, (2) cohabit, and (3) represent to others that they are married."

In the state of Texas, you have to sign a form with the County Clerk stating that you are cohabiting, living as man and wife, even though you are not married and you also have to represent yourselves as man and wife such as taxes, etc. There is no set time but you do have to sign a form. You can check it out but going to common law states in your browser, there are only about 13 or so states that recognize common law and Texas is one of them

common law marriages are not recognized in texas.
Let me reiterate common law marriages are no longer recognized in Texas.

One year or as soon as you both put names on the same document; IE insurance, rental contract, car loan ext.
