Believe it or not, a mixture of mayonnaise and cigarette ashes works wonders to remove a glass ring on a wooden table.

It's called,"White ring Remover" and is sold at the Hardware Store with their Stains,in the Paint department. Or you could use petroleum Jelly and some(I don't like recommending this) ash from cigarettes. You can use ash from burnt wood also. That's a mild abrasive. Mix the two and rub in a circular motion, that will remove it. Follow up with some lemon Oil.Oh, the White Ring Remover is made by Formbys.Bye

rub the stain with a cloth dampened with white vinegar then a clean damp cloth polish it with your favorite furniture polish the best to use is olde english lemon oil this will keep the wood from drying out and leaves a great shine be sure to rub excess oil off

Try using lemon oil, allowing it to stand on the stain for 30 minutes before wiping clean before any attempts in sanding and refinishing. I've heard that peanut butter has its healing agencies too.

I tried my hardest in the begining to keep them off the counters and the table. I would yell at them and use the spray bottle on them to get them on the counters, I just got so exahusted with it and they are up there all day while we are at work anyway so I'm like what's the use. what I did was put heavy shelf paper down on the counter that they like to be on (It is infront of a window) and when I need to use that counter space I pick up the shelf paper and then when I'm done I clean up and put the shelf paper back on the counter. if you don't want to go that route, you can put double sticky tape on the counter but that tends to be a sticky situation (Pardon the pun) when trying to cook and stuff. Good luck!
