I like poker, I used to play poker everyday. However, I can't stand poker on ESPN! I get so damned dissapointed when i turn to ESPN, or ESPN 2 hoping to get to see highlights of Football, Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, shoot, I wouldn't mind seeing Nascar, Tennis, Golf, ANYTHING that involves athletes putting their bodies, lives, and minds on the line.

But POKER!? I am not getting down on poker or anyone who plays poker, I like it, and it is a damn hard game to master. but I like to PLAY, not WATCH. Would people watch a Chess match on ESPN?

They could fill that time with oldschool hockey, football, basketball, baseball games. Does anyone agree with me?

You are completely correct. Poker is not a sport! It is a great game, but it requires no hand/eye coordination, no stamina, no nothing (that has to do with sports). It is bad enough to show it, but then they show highlights from 5 years ago and junk like that.

oh my god, espn shows so much crap that shouldn't even be deemed a sport. One example, of course, is poker. Some people like to think certain activities are sports. I'm sorry, but poker is not a sport. Neither is synchronized swimming or horseback riding. It needs to be taken off tv.

The fact is that people watch it, or it wouldn't be on t.v. I love to watch how pros play there hands, you can really pick up a lot of information on how they play there hands. ESPN has like 3 channels so I'm sure that you can go to one of the other places to find out the sports scores. As long as people watch it, then ESPN will keep it on.

Yes ESPN should stop showing poker. There are other real sports that could occupy those time slots. Examples: soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, badminton, dodge ball, disc golf, horseshoes, track and field events, curling, lawn darts, croquet...

I agree, ESPN shouldn't show poker. It's fun to play, but there is no point in watching it because you don't win anything if you're just watching it on TV.

I have been saying that for a looooooong time!!!!! I enjoy a good card game myself, so I mean no disrespect to poker when I say that it is NOT A SPORT!!!!!!!!!

If ESPN wants to call itself a "sports" newtork, then that is what it needs to be. The card players need to go, along with the hot dog eaters.
