talking = communicating with each other,
Networking = sending files from one computer to the other. meaning any number of computers can be involved in a network not just two

what do you have to do?
the simplest way to network two computers is by cable (wired) each computer must have an ethernet card installed you would plug one end of the cable into one computer and the other end into the other computer, then you would need to give each computer an ip address so they would know which computer to send the files to.

It means to share files and to be able to see each other on a netowork. Now there are two ways to do this. The simplest being to connect them over a CAT5 Crossover Cable. Or You Can Set Up A Wireless Network. This is slightly harder but can be done using the wireless setup wizard, aviable on both macs and PC's.
