i have heard that there is a fourth dimmension, what is it? how did they get it? is there a fifth dimmension? what is the fifth?

Some theories call time the 4th dimension. But others say that there is a 4th space dimension. 3 dimensions are up-down, right-left, and forward-backward, and the 4th dimension would be a direction that is perpendicular to all three of those. We cannot perceive it, it would have to be outside the universe as we know it, but it can be described mathematically. And some theories have even more dimensions. I think string theory has 12!

The three dimensions plus time can describe any point at any point in time (corner of State and Congress, 10 feet up, at 4:30 PM EDT)

there a three spatial dimension and time is the fourth. according to superstring and M-theory there are about 7 or 8 more curled up dimension as well.

I'm not sure what the fifth dimension is, but the fourth one is time.

three of space, one of time; no-one labels them.
