3(x+13)-15=4(x-2)-9 solve for x???

2-(x+5)=3(3-x)

5(x+1)+6(x+2)=7(x+3)

x+8x-(x-4)=4(x-3)

1/4x+1/2x-2=1/8x+3

3x-13=2x+5

4x-14=x-2

1. x=41
2.x=-3
3.x=1
4.x=-4
5.x=8
6. x=18
7.x=4

You should ask your teacher for help though. It isnt that hard if they show you how to do it. Once you know how to do one, you will know how to do all of them.

4x-14+x-2 = -4
you have to add 14 to both sides, thus giving you 4x=x-12,
then you have to subtract x from both sides, thus giving you 3x=-12, divide both sides by 3 and you get -4.

5(x+1)+6(x+2)=7(x+3)=2
you have to multiply the 5, 6, and 7 by what is in parenthesis,thus giving you 5x+1+6x+12=7x=21,
then you add the 5x and the 6x together along with the 1 and 12, thus giving you 11x+13=7x+21. you then subtract 7x from both side giving you 4x+13=21. then subtract 13 from both side you then get 4x=8. divid both sides by 4 and u get 2

I'll show you how to do one - but will not do your homework for you

3(x+13) - 15 = 4(x-2)-9,,,,first distribute both parenthesis

3x + 39 - 15 = 4x - 8 - 9

3x +24 = 4x - 17.....subtract 3x from both sides

24 = x - 17......add 17 to both sides

x = 41

tadaaa - - now get that pencil workin !

for the top four problems first foil (multiply everything out)
after, combine like terms on both sides
then, get the variable (in this case x) on one side of the equal sign and the numbers on the other side
last divide by the x's leading coefficient (the number x is multiplied by) on both sides.
You should end up w/ x=something.

for the bottom three combine like terms
after, get the variable on one side and the nmbers on the other side. then divide by the leading coefficient.
if u end up w/ a coefficient that is a fraction, then multiply by the reciprical (the fraction upside down)

hope that helped.

We're not helping you if we are doing your homework for you. If you are not understanding this stuff, ask your teacher, after class (if you are embarrassed about it). That's what they are there for.
