Take a deep breath and try to focus all that energy into what you are about to do. A little bit of fear is a good thing, but don't let it take over. Just try to relax, and everything will be great.

Being prepared for whatever you are about to perform is also very important, but even the best forget what they're supposed to say some times (Case in point: Adam Pascal at the Rent 10th Anniversary Concert during Happy New Year... he was reading most of his lines). Just remember that no one is going to hate you if you make a tiny little mistake... sometimes the mistakes just make it funny, and sometimes the mistakes fit in with whatever it was you were doing anyway and you can just go with it.

Definitely to be prepared. Know the story of what you're performing. Do a bit of meditating, whether it's full on or just deep breathing. Movements may help too depending on how much time you have... moving your head from side to side, back and forward, raising your arms over your head then exhaling as you bring them down, going up on your toes, then down again, stretching... stuff like that. Some people find vocal warm-ups help regardless of whether or not they plan to sing. It helps take the frogs out :-)

A little bit of nervousness is good... the adrenaline will help you. Just be as prepared as you can for the big day and go with it... you'll find that a few nerves will focus the mind and help you deliver better than you thought.

As a former performer in dance, a speech and debater, and an avid fan of entertaining, the best advice I can give is to just be as prepared as possible. You will shine when you begin to share your knowledge or performance! It is great in the spotlight! Enjoy! Nana
