You need to go to your company's IT dept and check if they allow VPN (virtual private networking). With VPN, you use your high speed internet connection at home to create a tunnel from your house to the office. Once the tunnel is secured, you have access to whatever the IT dept makes available to you over the VPN.
If your company is without an IT dept, and if it is ok with your employer, you could alternatively use a software like PCAnywhere. You install it on your office pc and your home pc, and then leave your office pc on when you go home. Then when you're home, you launch PCAnywhere and it connects to and takes control of your office pc. You can then do anything from your home pc that you could do if you were sitting at the office pc. Again, you need a high speed internet connection at home to really pull this off.
As far as wireless - if you have a wireless router at home, then you could connect wirelessly to your router, which puts you on your high-speed connection. Once that is done, you would then either open the VPN or launch your remote control session.

You could install a virtual desktop type of program so that you can access files and folders from home.
Here's something you might be interested in. It's called GoToMyPC and can be used to access documents and other things like that from any computer with Internet access. All you have to do is have it installed on your office computer, I believe.
You can then see your desktop from home.
There is a free trial, I believe, so you can check it out.
Here's the link if you're interested.

Good luck and have fun!

how far form the office you live , you are probably goin to go wired with dsl , cable, satalite, or t1 depending on how much you do over the line . you could set up your work computer to be able to use remote desktop, and be able to things like you were sitting at the computer at work / from home...
the really cool thing about remote desktop, is that if you were linked to it , and say i was sitting at your desk , i would be able to see what you were doing on your computer from the office monitor, so the boss would be able to see how the work was goin, and such...

Remote desktop is a bad way to go. It ties up a machine permanently when you are not using it. You need their admin to set up a vpn to their server. This goes over the internet.
