some of my friends call me gay for no reason. why do they do this?

The word 'gay' has become a big part of popular culture. People often use 'gay' as a slang term to refer to something 'stupid'. The use of 'gay' as a slang term stems from homophobia (homophobes often falsely categorize gay people as being stupid)
I'm not calling you stupid and I don't know the whole context of your conversations with friends but it is a possibility that is going on in your situation. If you are gay don't take it personally...just realize that the term is extremely cliche! Also realize that a majority of gay people are highly educated and successful (contrary to homophobic beliefs)

Well, you might have feminine qualities, or characteristics- maybe, being to neat or clean, something stupid like that.
Or, you might just be handsome, and you groom yourself well and stuff.
I'm 15 and in my school we use the word "gay" meaning "stupid". So like, we'll say "OMG that science test was so gay". We don't mean the science test is homosexual.. haha ;)
Just ignore them for now! :)

Well not a lot of information .... they could be just making a joking comment... or they could mean they think you are gay.......
I think some people say that meaning whatever the topic of discussion is; is lame....
But need more information to give a better answer.

Usually because of immaturity and/or lack of understanding or respect for others. The best way to handle is to ignore, in my opinion. Or you could also ask them to stop, tell them it bothers you. If they refuse to do so then they are not your friends.

you may act gay sometimes or they may think you are. but sometimes they just say it to be funn or to make you mad.
