Desiray...thats what I mean. The government should stay out of our religious beliefs and not dictact what to believe.....such as Christian for example. Bush should keep his beliefs to himself and others too. Why does it matter who does or who doesn't believe in evolution. So thus, seperation of church and state.

Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
This is the first amendment.....where does it say "seperation of church and state?" All I see is that "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.".... and the last time I checked there is now law telling anyone where to (or not to) go to church...... that is all that amendment means.......

What? Since when did our government tell you which church you could go to???? Are you senseless?? There are countless churches in America. You are free to go to any of these or not go at all. So how is that a lack of separation between the two?? Do you know anything about history? About what you are talking about? Anything???

" tens of millions of harmless adult males, women, and teenagers, because of the fact the introduction of Christianity, have been burned, tortured, fined, and imprisoned. What has been the effect of this coercion? To make a million/2 the international fools and a million/2 hypocrites,to assist roguery and mistake around the international " ( Thomas Jefferson)

Yeah, it's a question we ask regularly. Nice thing about elections every four years, there's always hope the pendulum will swing back the other way.

Seperation of church and state only applies to direct preference of one religion over another in gov't. For example, our money says "In God we Trust" it doesn't say which God. The Pledge of Allegiance says "One nation, under God." not the God, Jesus Christ, Allah, etc.

I guess it's the "just ain't going to work out and it's not you it's me" kind of thing. I mean even in public schools they are mixing in religion.
