You do not even need a wireless router to share files between 2 computers. You can set up an "ad hoc" network. Otherwise, a wireless router works similarly to a wired router in a network environment. Be careful with the wireless configuration. Even 128 bit WEP encryption can be hacked in less than 30 minutes.

as a simple answer... almost.
A Wireless router, 2 NIC's, plus all the necessary router information entered into your systems so they can both see the network.
Next, you would need to create a Workgroup and place both pc's within this workgroup. Once both pc's are in the workgroup you can designate folders on each pc as Shared folders. Placing files in these folders will allow the other pc to browse and use these files.
If you have XP Professional PC's or Vista Business Editions you'll need to authenticate to the pc's to connect to them (user name and password).

A instantaneous modem router could be a instantaneous router/modem combination and a instantaneous router could purely be a router by potential of itself. in case you had severe-speed cable cyber web you may desire a modem related to a instantaneous router to get on line.

Yes and Yes.
In order to share files between computer, you'll need to make sure that both are in the same 'Workgroup'. You do this by right clicking 'My Computer', selecting properties, going to the 'Computer Name' tab, and making sure that both computers have the same workgroup name.
