Not dumb. Just extremely ignorant and stubborn.

The only way you can decide if you are Pro Choice or Pro Life is by studying the issue and the practice. I have.
I dont believe in abortion and I also dont believe the Government should tell a woman what to do with her own body. So now that is a dilema.
Over the years of my life I have softened on the issue of abortion. I use to be a pro-life counselor in my early 20's. I hated it. No matter how much you tried to not get too attached, you do. You see the pain of the mother and feel the pain of the loss of a life. No matter how much counseling you do, if a woman wants an abortion she will have it. I let my heart get in the way once and was taking care of one of my patients kids as she was ill in the hospital. And later I found out she had the abortion while she was at it and I was caring for her 3 year old. That was it, I was done with this issue at the time.
Now, 30 years later while studying spirituality I have a different view. I now realize that the soul enters the body in the 3rd trimester and not before. So when an abortion is done it is tissue and heart and lungs and finger and toes but no soul. A soul is what makes us HUMAN.
So even though I feel that most women should not allow themselves to get pregnant when they are not ready, it is going to happen. And women are going to get pregant when raped or abused. I now feel it is only the womens choice up until the 3rd trimester. And then it should be Gods. We will never all agree on this subject but I strongly feel the government should stay out, church should stay out, and doctors should not make tons of money doing abortions. So what other choices are there???

What IS the actual issue? If you believe that life begins at conception or even a short period of time after conception, then you HAVE to believe that abortion is MURDER. Is that NOT an ACTUAL ISSUE? Of course those that are "pro-choice" do not believe that life begins until the baby is born or a very short time before. They have no problems with killing the fetus. (sorry, but there is no nice way of saying it) They advocate a woman that is pregnant to have a legal right to say whether the baby lives or dies. There would be no restrictions on the decision, just what she wants. Your point about abortions being done anyway, whether they are legal or not is true but NOT A REASON to legalize abortion. Using that rational thinking, we COULD legalize rape, murder, arson, robbery, or any other violent crime. PEOPLE ARE GOING TO DO THEM ANYWAY, WHETHER THEY ARE LEGAL OR NOT SO WE MAY AS WELL LEGALIZE THEM. If you take into consideration that you are saying that both sides, the pro-choice and the pro-life sides are dumb, then I guess we are ALL dumb. I do not think ANYONE can not have an opinion on abortion- one way or the other. I just wonder if you fall into one of those groups? I do and I guess I am dumb but I am going the way my conscience tells me to go.

well with all the forms of birth control there is really no reason that a women should allow herslef an unwanted pregnancy period! Things do happen, but there are women out there that have had 3 abortions or more that is ludicrous!!No excuse-as for the pro life people i dont feel it is any of their business period and they need to but out -

And they keep reproducing due to this issue. Sadly this debate keeps going on, when the emphasis should be on affordable birth control, sex education programs, changing ideas about sexuality in United States. Blame the puritans.
I wouldn't call myself either. There are negative affects and repercussions of each side.

Some of the most educated people in the country cant come to an agreement on this issue..so no they aren't the dumbest people in the world.
I understand your frustration on this issue, the President of the US shouldn't be voted on based on his positon on abortion.

No, you can be fairly bright and still sucked in by an emotional issue.
I do think the names of thier positions are the most disengenuous ever. One side is pushing the reproductive enslavement of women, and the other wants to murder babies.

Neither side is stupid. It is their tax dollars and according to the Constitution are entitled to their opinions! One side has more money to afford Lobbyists that earn Mega bucks!

if we didn't have dumb people everywhere, then we wouldn't have half as much fun finding something to ask questions about...mainly, people can't decide or remember what they are fighting for with the issue on pro life and pro choice
