Most certainly! I can experience the better part of life in the physical such as love, learning, playing and composing music and helping people along their path in life! Life is what you make of it each and everyday. If you can make someone smile and laugh you have lightened their burden at that time. Besides it takes less muscles to smile than it does to frown. You may even make an impact and influence someones life and make an impact on all the people of the Earth. It is a matter of choice! To be happy or not to be happy! When you are happy people are drawn to you, you become the beacon of light in the middle of their darkness. Light always dispels the darkness! To Life, may it ever be filled with joy and laughter and happiness

I am extremely happy to be alive. A few years back, if my accident happened at a different time of the day - I might no be here today.
(10:30 pm) I was entering the freeway, there was no traffic in the first lane, so that's where I was driving. I was in my lane for about 10 seconds when I noticed (in my side view mirror) a truck's headlights and then I felt a bump (rear, driver's side).
I know what you're supposed to do in emergency situations - but when it happens - it seems all commn sense goes right out the window. Anyway, I freaked and both feet went to the floor board. I thought I was further down the freeway and as my car was spinning I thought to myself - 'there's cement barriers in the middle. Crap, this is going to hurt!' Suddenly my car stopped and I had high-centered in the grassy median. I got out of the car and the truck was long gone. I young woman came running up to me and asked if I was Ok.
I looked at her and said "what in the world just happened! I'm ok but just shaky". She told me her and her boy friend was a bit behind me and saw what had happened. The truck, for some stupid reason, decided he wanted the lane I was in and didn't even look to see if someone was there or not.
A police officer showed up and then they towed my car off. A friend of mine came, picked me up and took be home.
The following weekend, while grocery shopping with my daughter-in-law and grand daughters, I kept hugging the girls and crying. Everytime I cried they would ask "grandma why are you crying?" I told them "I'm crying because hugging you was almost taken away from me."
If the accident would have happened during rush hour (given the same circumstances with both of my feet on the floor board) - more cars would have been involved and I could have really gotten hurt or not even be here right now.
I treasure every moment with my grand daughters now and try my best to stay off of the freeways - especially around big white trucks.....................
Oh, by the way, my insurance company considered it my fault because no one got the license plate number off of the fast moving truck and the truck driver did not stop...................

You have only 2 choices, being alive or dead. Of course I rather be alive, and I am trying to enjoy each day. When I get up in the morning I am planning my day and include something fun or enjoyable, like visiting a friend or read a book, etc. What about you?

As you can tell by the responses, thinking takes a toll on the human's ability to enjoy life.
In the West, we tend to feel sorry for ourselves never really seeing just how fortunate we are in the world.
Your parents could have died. You could have been born with HIV. You could have been sexually mutilated like so many others have been. You could have been gang raped in a war torn country. You could be in the situation of trying to feed yourself on $3 a month. You could never have attended a school and have been required to pick up a machine gun by the age of 9.
We tend to see our lives as such misery with little appreciation of what others have experienced.
Happiness is an overrated concept in the West. Some days bring enjoyment, others don't.

No I am not happy to be alive. The world, especially past and current human existence, is without objective meaning, purpose, comprehensible truth, or essential value. There is no reasonable proof of the existence of a higher ruler or creator, a "true morality" does not exist, and secular ethics are impossible; therefore, life has no truth, and no action can be preferable to any other.

To be perfectly honest..NO..I am not happy to be alive, but I deal with it..life is a a big ridiculous game that most don't know how to play. You work all your life, physically, mentally, emotionally, only to have it all end one day. So you had a little fun..big whoop. Is it worth it? No.
But you are here and all you can do is deal with it the best you can.
So GO PLAY! Don't take it so seriously.

compared to the alternatives it would be difficult to say. unlife may be superlative or dismal horror. for me I live in paradise and find joy and fulfilment as I wish. if I don't wanna life can be a barrel of excreta if I wanna it could be full of monkeys. happy shmappy just LIVE there really is no tommorow.
