the Ipod dosen't work, it just says "use I tunes to restore". Itunes says they have to clear the Ipod to repair, I don't have any of my songs backed up. Is there a way to repair my Ipod without losing all of my songs?

Unless you have your songs on itunes, there's no way of saving if once you restore your iPod. :)

When it says its going to lose the songs, does not mean that ur library will be erased. So when u plug in ur Ipod u can download the songs onto ur ipod again. And no, i do not know of any way to repair it free without losing all the songs.

Ok, so do you want tomove your music from one computer to another with ur ipod? Then you download "music rescue" from the internet and it copys all the music from your ipod to a folder. There just add the folder to itunes. never, i mean never, say yes to itunes to restore. If you want to spend about a hour, then sure go ahead. oh yeah, its free but you need to click the message a few times along the way bacause it says to buy, but keep ignoring that and you only need to use it once.

As far as I know there is nothing you can do. I had the same thing happen to me and ended up losing over 800 songs because of it. I would suggest trying to contact Ipod directly to see if maybe there is a way you can send it to them and have them do what is called a data extraction from the unit itself... Good luck.

Technically No, if your Ipod wont allow you to get past that screen your screwed but if and when you plug the ipod in the computer and the computer recognizes it...there is still some hope...go to good and search "ipod backup" and download one of those and if it reads your ipod it should be able to back up your data

can you open your ipod when its plugged into your computer like you can a mass storage device? if you can you can coppy all the songs out of it. Careful when you do the itunes restore thing though because every time you do that you risk frying the memory inside. i think it only happens with flash memory actually though.

Its just going to erase the songs on your ipod then copy them back. it doesnt touch the songs on you computer in itunes. Just restore it, it will erase itself, then it will copy all the songs back to your ipod

read the ipod instruction manual, there is a way to reset it manually... flip hold back and forth like 3 or 4 times, then hold down the center button, and menu i think... for like 7 seconds. it should reset...

if it says specifically to use itunes, idk if this will work... but its worth a shot

Try going to "My Computer" and view the drive directly. Try to drag the files to another folder.
