They have rocks down by the river where you can beat your clothes and then carry them two miles back home in a basket on your head.

My house has the Laundry room in the Garage and it is detached from the house. So an "indoor laundry" means just what it says- indoor.

Perhaps the homes have the laundry equipment in the detatched garage. I recall seeing some places in Bakersfield with the laundry equipment parked to the side of the house.

Very low rent sorts of set ups.

Ahhh gone are the days when you had to beat your undies on a rock by the side of a river. I'd like helper monkeys myself. That would be a major selling point in my opinion.
I'll wager that these rooms have enough space for some sort of drying rack so you don't always have to use your dryer. Lots of new developments around Montreal forbid clotheslines so I can't imagine California would be any different.

They could be in the garage, or on the back porch.
I hated my laundry area in the garage, it was always too hot or too cold.

People like to know they can do landry at home - no need to go to crowded, public places with lots of freaky people. Also helps to know if you plan to move a washer and dryer - those are heavy.

I'm from California, and I sure miss that perfect weather...sigh. Hope it works well for you there!

Is that a new invention or something?
