what do you mean a normal diamond ring? it depends on the 4cs. you've already said carat weight...but it depends on cut and color and clarity. for example a FL (flawless), D (colorless) color diamond is going to cost WAY more than a SI2 (Slightly included) H-I (near colorless) color.
there's a diamond for every budget...good luck

There is no such thing as a 'normal' diamond ring or 'cut' ... you must have the 'quality' (how much 'color' and how many 'flaws' are in the diamond) to give an idea of 'price' ... and do you want the price of 'just the diamond' or of the diamond plus the setting ... which will also depend on the 'metal' used, and the 'look and size' of the ring. In short, no one can give you a 'good answer' based on your question. Perhaps I've given you some 'ideas' on how you can do a 'search' to find out the 'right answer' for what you want to know ...

Depends on the current diamond market and where the diamond came from (like a non-conflict diamond from Canada will cost more). Cost also depends on colour and clarity and sometimes certain cuts are more valuable that others. Try to google current diamond market or something.

there is absolutely no simple answer.
retail is about 6000. the cut, clarity, and color can dramatically alter the price.
if you get a fancy cut (marquis, pear, etc.) you can expect quite a big increase because they tend to waste a lot more rough than a simple princess cut.
it also depends on where you get it. i HIGHLY reccomend this place jewelry television. they are he world's largest gemstone retailer and you can save thousands on a diamond ring. (you can buy online at jtv.com or the have a tv show 24/7.) if you get it at a place like tiffany or cartier, you would pay a lot more than the actual ring is worth just because of the label stamped on it.

Take it to a jeweler. They might be able to price it for you.
