Mine arrived with my mail, at my regular delivery time on the date of release. I'd forgotten I pre-ordered so I was delighted to receive it.

Whatever time your mail usually comes. I don't know about you, but my postman is seriously unreliable. One day he gets here at 10 am, the next 5pm, then maybe noon the next day. Plus, Amazon doesn't actually guarantee that it will be there that day, it says that they will try. If you really want to get the book right away, I would recommend pre-ordering from Borders (if you have one in your area) and picking it up at the midnight release party. I think Wal-Mart has the midnight release as well, and you can pre-order from them if you don't have a Borders around.

I ordered it also and they sent an email recently that they'll do what they can to make sure it arrives on the release date.
However, it also said that it getting there on time depends on your local mail system after that. So try around the regular time your mail is delivered

Every time I have pre-ordered anything from amazon.com I did not get it on the day of its release. In fact, one time I did not get the item until a week later. If you want the book on the day it is released, get yourself to the bookstore. Online does not guarantee anything even if they say they do.
PS: I have also tried using Barnes & Noble and had the same results. Days after the day the item was released, whether a book or cd or dvd, I was still waiting for it to arrive.

whenever your normal mail delivery is. Unless the mailman decides he wants to unload them all first off (because there will probably be quite a few), in which case it will be delivered earlier than your normal delivery.
