take the numerator (top number) and divide it by the denominator (bottom number)

You put the denominator into the numerator and divide them
example 3/4 4 into 3.00 0 times
4 goes into 30 7 times 7*4=28 R2
4 into 20 5 times 5*4=20
3/4=0.75

If you have a calculator, then simply type in the top number (numerator) and divide it by the bottom number (denominator).
If you don't have a calculator, I'm afraid you have to do some long division, continuing past the decimal point to whatever degree of accuracy as you like. If you would like an example of this then please add another coment to this thread.

CALCULATOR!!!!!! for example, if the fraction is.....oh, idk.....3/4ths, then take ur calculater and type 3 divided by 4, and thats your answer!!!! i am in the 6th grade and we just finished doing that. hope 2 c more of ur questions!!!! <3, @m@nd@
