Have you heard of the brand "directed"?

I think they are a wonderful invention! I don't have one on my car...and if I did, I couldn't say that I would use it, but on those cold winter mornings or hot summer nights, it would be nice to press a button and go out to your car a minute or two later.

But now with the cost of gas, I wouldn't press the button to start my car and go out a few minutes later, I would just deal with the cold or heat. Not worth spending $ for the gas to leave your car running.

I think remote starters are great. I have installed 1 in each of my cars. You can buy remote start units by Directed Electronics at Autozone. Get the 99 dollar one. It comes with keyless entry. The cheaper one only comes with remote start. I installed mine in less than a day per vehicle. Depending on your car you might need a bypass module, also available from Autozone. I have had no problems in the year that I had mine installed and tech support was very helpful. I would definitely spend the money again. If you do get it, you might have to ask around to find an installer because a lot of installers don't like to install something that they don't sell. If you decide to install it yourself, then you can Email me if you have any questions. Good luck

I personally have not heard of that particular brand but for me I LOVE my remote start. I can set my heater/AC controls before I shut off engine and when I need to go in the morning (either hot or cold) start car about 5-10 min before I go outside and its toasty warm or nice and cool
One thing to keep in mind your vehicle must have fuel injection (or throttle body injection) and automatic transmission - most places will not install if you don't have both of the above requirements (for safety reasons for the tranny)
And I would really recommend having it installed because if there is a problem it will be under warranty

With gas at $ 3.00 a gallon, they do nothing except waste gasoline. The quickest way to warm up or cool off a vehicle is to just drive it.

A remote start added to your car can be a great system on cold and hot days. Please make sure you have a good installer do it.The system needs to be installed by a pro to make sure you never have problems with it.
