You should definately get a nintendo wii. We just bought one and it is great. The games are pricey for both so don't go by that... My mom loves the Wii and so does my 10 year old sister. I love it too. We have so much fun with it and it actually makes us get up off of the couch and move around. With the Wii, our family is actually doing something together, since it is much more fun to play together than on your own!

I would recommend the Wii. It's more kid-friendly and is very fun to play. Just make sure to hold onto the remote!
An Xbox 360 is expensive. But it is also worth it. The games are very fun to play. However, the Wii experience is so much more rewarding than the 360's.

Your son must want a 360 if you're asking this question. If it is some kind of special occasion like a birthday, you should probably put your son's happiness first. If it is just a random day that you feel like burning some money, buy yourself a Wii and tell him to do some chores/work and earn himself a 360! This would be easier to answer with more details though (sons age, occasion, etc...). Happy gaming!

There have been a lot of reports of broken Xbox 360s, if your son is little you should buy a Wii but if he is big and careful you should buy him a 360. If he disapproves of this answer tell him i said sorry...

I think if you deserve the wii then get it for yourself. If you do decide to get an xbox 360 for your son, it is a very good gaming system but just make sure you get the extended warranty the one and two year warranty are very good prices.

You should buy both. Xbox 360 is the best console ever and I dont want to be rude so you should buy yourself the Wii.

Honestley, coming from a kid's perspective....
Your child will most likely want the xbox 360...
It is best for ages 9+....offers alot more games and graphics are very realistic.
The Nintendo Wii is for younger children and fun for everyone but, lacks the graphics.

a little more info would be usefull...are you getting a system because of a special date?.(eg. Birthday..holiday..etc) or because you want one?..how old is your son? what type of media do you want him to be exposed to? Would one of you be more flexible of wich to have than the other?
these all would of helped in answering the question...
If your gonna get a Xbox..wait for the "Eliete" to come out...
if your gonna get a Wii...make sure you get the new one with the DvD player... the old ones dont have them..dont rip yourself off..
the x box has the more mature content... and it has more muscle than the Wii.. the wii is fun for everybody and is really adaptable.
