You can not have a period when you are pregnant. A period is the disposal of the unused egg and uterus lining. If you lost the uterus lining when you were pregnant it would be a miscarriage. Women who say they have a period when pregnant are mislabeling the bleeding.

I bled a lot when I was pregnant. I was always scared I was miscarrying. I would go to the doctor and hear the hearbeat to know everything was okay. My firend who had an early miscarriage said she had no doubt that she was miscarrying because it was very obvious.

Any bleeding should be reported to your OB right away. In most cases everything is fine, but any bright red bleeding when pregnant is labeled as a "threatened miscarriage". That's the medical term for it.

The best thing for you to do on that is to talk with your Dr. He/She may want to do an ultrasound to just make sure everything is okay with the pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my son I had my period for the first couple of months and everything was fine. But, when I was pregnant with my second I thought everything was going to be the same way, but by my surprise the reason why I started have blood clots was because I was miscarrying. So not all pregnancies are the same. Go talk to your Dr. and see what he/she has to say. Just for percautions for yourself and the baby. Good luck, Sweetie!

I would call the Dr. and get checked out just to be sure! so women do bleed when they are pregnant, like my mom and well your mom but I would just call the doctor and see whats going on! because if you are having a m/c (which I hope your not) then sometimes they can save your baby! good luck honey!

its not normal to get your periods but it does happen, you normally get cramps with a miscarriage but not all the time. My advice would be go to the doctor soon and get it checked out.
good luck
