We invaded because we were attacked on September 11, 2001. While we were in the area, we thought we'd just go ahead and take out Saddam Hussein along with his delinguint sons. Right now, we're not exactly fighting a technical war, just trying to establish a government in Iraq. The fighting is by the people who don't belong there and are trying to run us out. Otherwise known as, Al Queda and more affectionately called terrorists.
