I am 30 weeks pregnant and experenced the same thing around 20 weeks to about 24. I was concerned but like someone stated earlier my OB/GYN told me the baby is still small and I am not feeling everything he is doing. Feeling about 10 movements in 2 hours (also called a kick count) isnt really started untill 25 weeks usually. By then if you dont feel regular movements you should worry and go to the E.R. If she goes to the E.R. they will only listen for a heartbeat and send her home. If you are that worried you have some options. One if she is a slender woman you can hear the babys' heartbeat with a stethascope. Another option is to buy those heart beat moniters. But really as long as there is no cramping or bleeding or fever she and the baby are fine.

At four months, she may not feel the baby move regularly. I'm 20 weeks, and some days I feel him move CONSTANTLY, at least 4 times an hour. Other days I may not feel anything. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong...her baby may just be turned toward her back, or he may be resting or making more subtle movements, such as shifting position rather than kicking. At 4 months, movement is not going to be consistant. She may want to call her doctor and let him know what's going on. If the doctor is concerned, he may have her come in for an emergency ultrasound or heartbeat detection, but I doubt he'll be too worried at this stage.

Well I would say if she isn't feeling movement she should call her doctor and let her doctor know so she can be checked out and see if everything is ok.... She could also drink some Grape Juice that usually will get a baby moving... Thats what they make you drink during a stress test to get the baby moving.

At 4 months you are only beginning to feel the baby move...she may not be used to it yet. Tell her to go the Dr and listen the the heartbeat to see if its ok.

It is a possible sign....she should be seen by her doctor right away. You should be able to feel the baby move throughout the day. The baby may be perfectly fine, but it is in her best interest to seek medical attention.

Not necessarily. At four months it may just be that your friend isn't used to feeling it yet. The baby is still small and so the movement can be very light (a feeling of flutters or gas). If she is concerned she should go in to see her ob/gyn immediately.

At four months pregnant I couldn't even feel my daughter moving yet.

I didn't start feeling her until I was 6 months pregnant.

I would have her call the doctor just in case, is she in any pain? If she is then she really needs to call the doctor.

It can be. Tell her to go see her doctor to hear the heartbeat, if they can't find the heartbeat they will send her for an ultrasound ASAP, but some babies are like that. My son was quiet and tranquil and my daughter was a maniac..you could see her feet sticking out and she was constantly kicking!

Ummm... that's not a good sign tell her to drink or eat something sugary like orage juice and see if that helps. And then I would also get myself to the doctors. It is only 4 months and I don't think you feel it all that much at that stage but still I would like to get checked.
