Are you talking about one of those stupid "gas boycott" things? They will do absolutely no good. If everyone who needed gas did not get it will just get it tomorrow. That means that tomorrow there will be more gas sold than normal. The oil companies do not feel a thing. If a gas boycott is going to work it has to last like a month or so and there has to be a large number of people involved. If only 1% of the population were involved then it will not have any effect.

Someone had put a link to the snopes page that deals with this. That pretty much sums up how the gas boycotts will not work.

Yes. Didn't worry about it, since you folks who think not buying gas on ONE day will make a difference don't understand that the way to push the price down isn't to stop consumption for a day--it's to lower overall consumption by driving more fuel-efficient cars and utilizing public transportation.

How many of you bought gas yesterday so you wouldn't have to buy it today? How many of you plan to buy gas tomorrow? It all balances out in the end.

Wanna make a difference? STOP BUYING GAS. PERIOD.

I hope it tells the big boys something?

I think my sister got gas.. Who cares it's not going to affect them, people need gas to live. Yes you can say you can walk to work or ride a bike, well I work 30 minutes away from my house one way so it's not gonna happen.

I'm going to be honest with you , I haven't even been out today so I have no idea. I'm sure that some people don't know about the "gasless day" today.

Nobody seems to read their emails of doom any more, do they? I saw plenty of people buying gas in spite of it.
