Tiny toner specs appear all over my paper, I've tried several settings/paper combos. I am on a mac so don't have access to HP Toolbox that is recommended to solve this problem. Maybe need to clean the paper path, but don't know how. Any suggestions? Thank you!

go to HP website, and ask support there, read the manual, you not got one? download it from hp.com
take out the toner cartage and wipe it with a clean cloth

Yes u need to clean the printer. Sounds like there is toner on the Drum.
