Worth watching or not?

Don't bother, it is too over acted, and the premise is just weird! Unless you like completely happless men, who has nothing to live for, but finds love anyways and better way of life. He gets pushed around most of the movie!

I enjoyed it, but I think Kevin Spacey is a terrific Actor and Dame Judi Dench also is well worth watching...It is a film you have to actually sit and watch, in fact I have watched it more than once and still see things in it I hadn't seen before..Not a blockbuster, but worth watching and you may appreciate it some months later rather than at the time.

Yes, definitely. Quite slow, but extremely good. Kevin Spacey is a fine actor.
The book on which it's based, by E Annie Proulx, is also well worth reading, as are the rest of her books.

I liked it. It was original, in-depth, unusual, and very intriguing. Not your typical boring action film with fake-looking computer graphics, nor your rehashed comedy with all the jokes from Airplane! and Animal House repeated over and over. If those are the kind of movies you like, though, then "The Shipping News" is not for you.

it is a good film.......nothing exciting, however if you are a fan of Kevin Spacey...he does an admirable job in this film and that alone makes it worth watching. If you don't like Spacey or heart warming dramas...don't watch it!

Dunno about the film, but if out at sea, certainly worth a go.
Can you name all the areas round the uk? go on give it a try...
