Why do i feel SO stupid.......?

im 19 years old. and when i talk, i dont think that i sound smart, or even a BIT smart. well what im trying to say, is i dont really ever use big words. and another reason why i think im stupid, is because, im HORRIBLE @ math. i mean, HORRIBLE! i passed my math class with a 70%. if i would have gotten a 69 i would have to take summer school. am i really dumb? im starting to believe i am.....

get rid of the attitude! you are not stupid! ok you are not a math genuis most of us arent but we all have other qualities and talents! study and try and improve what has to be done, dont worry about the rest! focus on the talent and skills GOD gave you.if you are unsure of what that would be talk to your school counselor.you are young so anything is possible you -can do it! good luck.dont worry about using big words cause most common people would not know the meaning anyway and would think you were being a phony or a show off!

there's book smart, and there's common sense smart. I would rather have common sense, personally.
don't take it to hard about your math grade, that's not all there is to life. and other than the basics, I've had no need for the in depth stuff. I'm almost 35 now. I have an incredible brain, but I don't fancy math. No big deal. The vocabulary comes with time. Do you know how long people would stare, trying to figure you out, if they heard a 19 year old use big words?
Let it go, and trust in yourself.

I'm 100% against thinking that being great or even good in Math,Chemestry or Physics is a sign of cleavrness because most of the greatest people in the history wore artists novelists poets like Shakespeare,Michell Angelo, Baithoven and alot more and they had nothing to do with Math ..beside judging from your writing you sound smart and bellive me i'm just like you I suck in math plus i'm almost 19 years old and I feel stupid some times so I started to talk with confedince -even if it was a fake act sometimes- so my classmtes started calling me the Phillosepher ..
My point is just trust your self and bellive people can see the confedince within a person..

It's dumb that you're actually starting to think that. Being good at math doesn't mean that you're smart in general. You don't have to use big words in order to communicate a thought. I always did sh*tty in math in high school (I got A's and B's in it in college, though), pretty much because I hate math, but those old grades don't mean that I'm stupid. You need to find some self esteem and stop talking about yourself this way.

You are not dumb. I'm 19 too, and i don't use big words either unless i need to or i'm mimicking someone else (usually mimicking... my poor brain doesn't think of big words just like that!) and I sucked a** at math! lol, really- i only passed geometry because i stayed after literally every day to finish my homework, or copied off friends. You are not dumb, there are lots of people out there like you and me! (:

You're not stupid at all. It doesn't take a bunch of $10 words to effectively communicate. Look people in the eye when you talk to them. It sends a message. It says, "I WILL be taken seriously."

BTW, I'm a college graduate with an IQ north of 130, and I tanked math, too.

I got 27% in grade 11 math, the last year I took it, went on to graduate with honours, and went on to get an honours B.A. You aren't stupid. People who use big words where everyday ones will do are pretentious idiots. Don't ever think you're dumb.
