i attend regular cheerleading practices (4 times a week), and everytime i do, i am required to take my piercing off (safety hazard).

it hurts whenever i put it back right after practice ends (about 4-5 hours later).. it somehow closes a little and each time i have to pierce it back a little (at the top) whenever i put my banana bell back. nowadays, it also hurts alot whenever i do my scorpions.

my piercing has gone kinda red now.

any tips on what i can do to help it heal faster or to avoid the pain? i tried using saline solution but i dont think its really helping..

i need help on how to keep my piercing on with my situation.

Heyy, i feel ya!! I got my belly button pierced a month ago and have to take it out for practice and the exact same thing was happening to me. Like almost exactly except ofcourse the scorpian part lol i can't do those to save my life!!! My sports trainer bought me fishing wire and taught me to put it through the hole and tie it in a lop that way the piercing never closes upp, if your coach allows it they make sports rings too, but mine likes the fishing wire better.... hope this is good info!! Oh and to help it feel better get a cup of hott water and mix it with sea salt, then tip it over the piercing and hold it their every ohter day for 20 minutess!

Can you put something on to hide the navel ring? Why did you get it pierced in the first place? Sometimes we have to make sacrifices in the world of extra curricular activities. If you are still having issues with the piercing, maybe you should see a doctor about a more sanitary solution. Good luck

first of all a belly piercing is hard to have heal on its own because sweat and germs build up there plus the constant irritation of your shirt rubbing doesn't help. you should never be taking your ring out if its not healed your asking for infection. the reason it keeps closing is because it is not healed. i would suggest taking it out till you have time to let it heal and have it re pierced then. if you don't then i would suggest being sure you clean the spot and the ring before and after every time you put it in and take it out. wash with dial soap and rinse with saline solution. good luck

You should just take it out and get it re-pierced when you have a break from cheerleading. That piercing takes a long time to heal and you shouldn't be taking it out at all.

Get a spacer from the piercing shop. It's a clear piece of plastic that will keep the hole open while you do your practice.

You might take yarn and put it through the whole. It will soak in any medication you put on it. You can turn it to make sure the whole doesn't grow back. Sterile....you could even you dental floss (none flavored)

be carful sounds like it could be an infection. although most are no big deal, if it's a staff infection it could lead to very serious problems. see a doctor and for goodness sakes leave it out until your done with cheerleading

Not to scare you, but it might be infected. Get a doctor to check it out.
