For Gawds sake...stop the whining. People around the world have been paying more for gas than we have for years. I have read most of the Constitution and nowhere in there have I seen anything about citizens having the right to cheap energy.
When EXXon Mobil makes all these profits....where does the money go? Well, where does it go. And don't tell me something stupid like all the big shots get the money. That is a drop, a very tiny drop in the bucket.
If you notice on the link you are so fond of there was a dividend paid of .35 per share. That is where a lot of it goes. Go out and buy some shares of Mobile or Chevron and then you become one of the greedy bloodsuckers. Look at the money for drilling and exploration that is paid. Back to the link again. In all of 2004 and part of 2005 Mobil SPENT more money than they took in. Where was the screaming then???
I read some of the stuff on this forum and I am terrified at how stupid people are. Simplistic answers to very very complicated questions and problems.

It's a love - hate situation.
I hate paying so much for a gallon of gas. I love all the pressure they are putting on us to find alternate energy sources and make their organizations obsolete.
Other countries have been putting up with destructive gas prices for years. Americans will not stand for it. We will develop new technology to solve the problem. When we succeed it will take most of the funding out of the terrorists pockets so they can go back to fighting with sticks and rocks.

the only way to make the oil companies start cutting the prices is to not buy gas. sale your car and ride a bike or walk. if the demand goes down so will the prices.

TODAY, MAY 15TH IS GAS-OUT DAY.
EXXON/MOBIL (LUKOIL) IS REAPING HUGE PROFITS ON OUR BACKS!!
SEND THEM A MESSAGE AND DON'T BUY GAS FROM THEM TODAY.
I personally have not bought EXXON or MOBIL or LUKOIL
products since 1975 and will continue my own boycott,
however, this "GAS-OUT" is not to drive them broke, but
to SEND A MESSAGE to ALL petroleum companies that
WE, the PEOPLE can make a difference as a group.

yes but to do something about it requires new refineries in the US or less driving, less energy consumption by Americans, both of which won't happen easily. they say alternative fuels but it is a ways off and nothing can simply replace the cheap oil we were used to.

You are misinformed about why gas prices are so high. We have the oil, we do not have enough refineries open in the US to refine the oil. We need to talk to Congress about allowing more oil refineries to be built in our country.

Sounds like a bad day at the pump. None of us like paying at the pump particularly when it is so high. That is why all major manufacturers now offer hybrids. You can do something about it.

That "scam" makes sure you get to work everyday and makes sure your groceries make to the store, helps ambulances save lives and helps take food and supplies to the needy and for disaster relief.
Cheers!

The bible says that very soon God will do something about the evil and greed in this world. Try not to worry about those kinds of ppl and trust that God will do what he says hes going to do :) he has always kept his promises.
