Probably not. I believe the oxygen (lambda) sensors were coated with the silicone contaminent, making the computer shut down and make the car undrivable. If the coating wasn't so bad as to stop the car it should have burned off by now. However the March incident was the one that we know about, there may have been others

Well only you can know if you purchased petrol from one of the affected garages.Whether the results can take all this time to come to light I am not sure. Most people had problems straight away. Tesco have spent millions reimbursing those people who could prove that they had purchased petrol from an affected Tesco station and had a bill or receipt to substantiate the cost of the repair.Whether Tesco would still entertain any claims after all this time I don't know.Would you still have proof that you purchased petrol from them at the time. Can a garage confirm that the sensor in your car is defective because of contaminated fuel and not from some other reason. If you feel that you may have reason to claim, get in touch with Tesco head office.I am sure they will consider every claim properly.

I don't know, I have been told shouldn't do, which is not a very comforting answer. My car had a dose of the lethal stuff when the scare was on. I actually filled up about ten days before it was made public, and had already realised that it must be a petrol problem. My car was in a bad way for a couple of weeks but gradually got better when I got rid of the petrol. I asked in the garage and I was told it should not cause any long term damage, but not sure I believe this.

just to characteristic to the different answer in case you have a gasoline injected motor vehicle that would not have a catalytic converter, often pre 1992 then which could additionally be ok as that would not have an O2 sensor the two, with the achievable exception of merc's and such like yet I doubt they might have them on united kingdom spec vehicles.

no, the lambda sensor would have gone down pretty much strait away, and you would have noticed as it controls fuel and air mixture ratio,
