What kind of stupid question is this!!!!!!!

Chicago hands down!

1. Half of the Cities population didn't desert.

2. Chicago actually has an alive economy

3. Chicago has the best looking skyline in america, (to me), and will be getting the tallest building in america (Chicago Spire).

4. Chicago has shows based from the city (Jerry Springer and Oprah)

5. Chicago is cleaner and has better weather.

6. Chicago has WAY less crime and less more poor. Chicago does have a ghetto, the South Side, but atleast thats only one side of the city. The majority of Detroit is ghetto, although there are a few good neighborhoods. The suburbs of Detroit are fine. actually, based on per capita income, the flint-Detroit Crrisor is the most impoverished in the country.

7. Chicago isn't totally industrial and burnt out like Detroit

8. Chicagohas a far better transportation system, buses and subway, Not as good as NYC but still good.

The ONLY way Detroit is better than Chicago is because it's close proximaty to casino windsor.

Chicago is boring Compared to Detroit You do get your Money's Worth in the Motor City, the Sports Teams in Detroit Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings they're all Good except for the Lions, Chicago Have Mediocre Sports Teams Cubs, White Sox, Bulls, Blackhawks area Joke all Except for the Bears they only Chicago Team I Like Personaly, just Have the Food Hot Dogs and Pizza but they don't about Food in Detroit and that's a Good Thing you should live your life around Food.

My Point is Detroit is More Exciting and Fun then Chicago.

Chicago is the best used to be the 2nd city but now we're the 3rd largest city I don't see Dertroit in the top three, top five or top ten. Chicago is a beautiful place to take a vacation I don't hear anyone taking a vacation to Detroit

I think that most people like Chicago because of the scenery, I've been to both cities. And most people are starting to dislike Detroit more and more, there's gangs and whatnot, I know Chicago has them too but the population of Detroit has dropped 50% over the past, 40-50 years, just because Michigan has lost a lot of money (I live in Michigan) and has had really bad employment, worst in the nation. Chicago on the other hand I don't think that their population has dropped nearly that much, so most people prefer Chicago just because it has better employment and whatnot, but I personally prefer Detroit just because I used to live around there, I mean I don't like all of Detroit, just the good parts.

I live in Suburban Detroit. Downtown is Really coming to Life, as is the Riverfront and Midtown (formerly the Cass Corridor) OK-most of the REST of the City still sucks. Cleveland is less of a One Horse Town. It has/had Steel (not so great) Rockefeller developed oil refining there, etc. But areas of Inner City Cleveland are QUITE Bad. I remember going down Carnegie in the Seventies on the way to my late Grandparent's house. YES-Downtown Chicago is Quite nice with few problems. But the South Side, along with Suburbs such as Englewood and Woodlawn, have been Bad for many years.

Detroit has the BEST sports teams (I'm purposely ignoring the Lions) but Chicago is the BEST city to live in. It has everything Detroit does not: good public transportation, good jobs, beaches, jogging trails, killer shopping and food. It also has some of the things that Detroit does: crime, homeless people, ghettos, etc. I'm from Detroit and I'd pick Chicago any day and time over this crappy city.

Detroit is clearly better than Chicago, because I was born in Detroit.

Oh, wait. Perhaps that makes Chicago better. You decide! :-P

Seriously, I love Detroit. It has some of the hardest working and modest people on earth, and the sports are better. Ultimately, however, the cultural-art scene and business are all better in Chicago, and it is generally safer there. Better public transportation and aescetics, too. I'll give Detroit kudos for its people and sports, but in just about every other way I'd take Chicago.

Chicago has an interesting history, beautiful lake views, great food, Frank Lloyd Wright buildings, and better public transportation.
