I remember when he came on the T.V. and anounced that he was leaving office. I ran outside and I saw my next door neighbors sitting on their front porch and I told them! The whole neighborhood was cheering! His approval ratings were higher than Bush's are now! Could it happen again?

He resigned in August 1974. The next election was in November 1976 and the new President would have sworn in in mid January 1977. What'st that, about 2 and a half years?

Talk about a silly question. Here's a hint: Nixon's resignation had nothing to do with approval ratings, it was about crimes committed DURING A CAMPAIGN
