How would you feel about Christians and Christianity if we were more accepting of your life choices and didn't try to interfer in your decisions....getting married, adoption, etc.? The reason I ask is that I am a Christian and my beliefs are usually stereo-typed with mainstream Christian beliefs even though I have no problem with someone being in a gay or lesbian relationship, getting married, etc.

whether it's choice or genetics...that's not the point of the question. I'm in no way suggesting how someone is gay or lesbian.

Lazarus I have not discarded the Bible for my own agenda. I have no agenda on this subject, I just don't feel I can force my beliefs on the whole society and I'm not going to go around hating a group of people because they are gay and lesbian. You may want to remember this passage: Deuteronomy 1: 17 (NIV) Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of any man -- for judgment belongs to God.

Well I would certainly be more predisposed towards organized religion anyway. And I certainly think we'd have a much more harmonious and pleasant society, at least temporarily. But we've always had prejudice. I think it would just be a matter of time before there was a new "other" to seize on and persecute. There are just always going to be people out there who are so small they need someone to feel better than to shore up their self esteem and sense of importance. So I think this is less a sociological one than it is a psychological one.

I haven't let the baddies out there interfere with my personal faith though.

I would really love to see more people like you at the forefront of the movement. Unfortunately, tolerance and understanding don't make headlines or sell papers.

I'm fine with Christians, I just wish they realized that they don't get to control a whole country.

We need rights under law, it has nothing to do with church, I don't see why the church is sticking it's nose into a law matter. Same goes for adoption. It's illogical. It's the start of government controlled by religion, and we all know where that leads, it's not happiness.

I'm fine with Christians now, they're good people, they just don't realize that we're not after them, church law stays the same, we just want equality by the law of the land.

Oh and it's not a "life choice", I had no say in this. I've never known another way to be, ever, in my entire life. I've always been me, there was no choice there. "Life choice" sounds like living a lie, well I'm not, I'm living my truth.

It was not Christianty that effects how ppl see Christ or said to kill him (Jesus) he is a fake ,he is a liar ,he is not who, he is he is not ther son of God. It was christian ppl.high priest The same people that took olive branches and places at the feet of his *** to walk upon. So when ppl like (Lazaraus) come into a room and points fingers picking then it is no wonder ppl reject Christ .He died for all our sins even his
In the Bible it clearly states our best is as of fifthy rags meaning we can't do any thing right to win God over ..You have to come to Jesus just as you are and believe he died and rose on the third day ..He knows the number of hairs on your head.He knows wat you will do or say b4 you do .
Stero-type is here it haas been here for a long time ..society sets rules and anything out the norm you are talked about ,,mistreated
It was crazy for a white boy to play basketball at one time...Larry Bird camein and changed all that
Women couln't vote at one time
To me if life was simple and plain and easy then we would have a problem ppl some ppl have to always find a way to provoke conflict when there is just no need for it
This is something that we have to work hard keep trying nevergive up andwin until the next big drama topic come up

If the Catholic Church had been more accepting of my lifestyle I might have hung around a few more years than I did (12) but I still would have left the church (as their other practices are bad too) and eventually away from Christian thinking (as I dont have much respect for christians at all any more) and eventually to become an atheist anyway (as I am now) because on the closest inspection its impossible for me to believe in all that god stuff anyway

Many churches are gay accepting. I belong to one. Many gays and lesbians are Christian. The issue is not Christianity, its bigotry.

While being gay was never a choice for me, being happy with who I am was a choice, and I'm glad I made the choice I did.

My partner and I celebrated 15 years together on January 2nd.

Kind thoughts,

Reyn

It does not matter if Christian people are accepting of another person or not. God commands us to love each other. This command is only second to loving Him. God also loves every person regardless of their status in life. It is not the person that is to be disliked, unloved or hated...it is the sin. People should not judge their lifestyle by what other people will think. Only God and His word. If you have questions about life that is where you should look for the answers. The Bible. It is God's own word. You can't go wrong there. I promise it has every answer you are looking for.

I think interference is the problem. There are a lot of Christians that feel as you do, it's the extremists though that make all the noise. Extremists of any religion are to be feared. Personally, I have no problem with any religious belief as long as their beliefs are not forced down my throat.

Thank you for your kind words which were worded so well.

Mainstream Christianity is the main reason I stay a Pagan. I haven't found a church yet that practices what they preaches. For me it's not only what harm they do to the LGBT community but what they do to their own members. As soon as Christianity turns around and actually practices what they preach then I'll come back. Until then, I'll stay a Pagan.
Thank you for the offer though. It was most kind and very friendly put.

I would be much more ok with it if alot of the christians would stop calling me a filthy sinner and say I deserve to burn in Hell for all eternety. Why, I ask. Just becuase i LOVE, love guys probably the whole idea of christianity, stupid people they are. I know that deep in the chrsitan faith homosexuality is not wrong people are just brainwashed to think that. But I beileve in reincarnation and stuff so christianity is just not right for me.

Frankly I'd be more disposed to considering what "they" have to say if they would respect the rights of others to live as they wish.
When "they" go out of their way to attempt to force their beliefs into laws that everyone has to follow, they lose my respect every time. If they feel that same-sex marriage is wrong it simply means they shouldn't do it, it should have absolutely no influence on MY life.
