Julius Caesar was born in 100 BC. After winning in several campaigns between 58 BC -54 BC, he went up against his former mentor and spokesman Pompey . Pompey fled for Egypt and Caesar became the leader of the Roman Empire in 49 BC. After a period of 5 years,on March 15th or the Ides of March , the senators on the assumption that Caesar made himself dictator of Rome assassinated him . Leading the assault was Cassius and the finishing blow by Brutus, hence the words "Et, tu,Brute?
