I have witnessed, heard of, or personally experienced this particular label used in life altering ways. Thinking about this"Normal" that we are supposed to be brings me to the conclusion that it should be erased and forgotten for all time. The scientific sector uses more precise measures in averaging and conclusions and the medical field only uses it as a laymens term. I'd rather someone call me insane than tell me I need to be 'Normal' any day. I feel it is another way to judge another according to our own personal standard. It is too broad a term and used in such destructive ways. I say there is no 'Normal' - there just is.

I am strictly speaking about our labeling of others and selfish need for everyone to conform and fit what we want at the moment. Not clinical insanity or criminal behavior. Like my husband always whips out the "I just want things to be normal." when things are not good for him. Demanding we be normal so it will fix his world. Right! Is 'Normal' a valid word?

I think there are extremes and there's the grey area in between, and that grey area is what I call "normal". So, my defination is pretty loose, but I'm comfortable with it.
