I don't think so. He lost the anchor of his OL when Tony Ugoh got drafted, and the defense lost Jamaal Anderson, and team record does play a large part in the rankings.
I think that Colt Brennan or Steve Slaton will win it this year. Brennan set the record for TD passes in a season last year (58), and with more experienced receivers, he'll excel even more. Plus, in a less then stellar WAC conference (Boise St. is the only team better than them there), they have a great chance at having a special season.
Slaton was explosive last year. He only had one off game, with another heisman candidate in the backfield with him (Pat White, wouldn't be surprised if he won), making the chances of winning better. The OL didn't lose too many, if any, KEY components, so they'll be more experienced and that will help the run game. There is really only two other teams that are good enough to beat WVU in the Big East (Louisville, Rutgers, in my opinion) so they can easily go 10-2, possibly better.

I would like him to. He is a great RB but I'm afraid the team won't perform due to the head coach. We know from history that the Heisman goes to a great player on at least a top 10 team. I don't think Arkansas will finish in the top 10 thereby ruining McFadden's chances. He is the best player in the country unfortunately he won't win.

YES HE SHOULD! The Heisman Trophy is supposed to be given to the best player in football. I know that his team has 4 losses but it should not matter. in his game against LSU who has one of the best defenses in the country he nearly ran for 200 YARDS!!! not only that but 2 rushing touchdowns and 1 passing in regulation time. he is by far the best RB in the country and the only reason he isn't a lock to win is his team would be pitiful otherwise. DARREN McFADDEN FOR HEISMAN

There is a good chance he could win it, only because he is in the sec. Is he the best candidate for the heisman, no. Brohm has proven beyond all doubt that he should be the leading candidate for the heisman, but since Brohm is apart of the Big East. He will not get the true graditude he deserves and get past over for because he plays for a"Basketball School"

I think he is the favorite. Pat White and Steve Slaton will be up there as well as Chad Henne and Mike Hart, but being teammates, they'll probably split votes. I'd also look closely at Brian Brohm, Colt Brennen, and John David Booty. I think McFadden will likely win the Heisman and be next year's #1 pick in the NFL Draft.

I know he doesn't get much, if any, hype, but if he keeps getting better, i think Stephen Mcgee of Texas A&M will win. He has all of the right weapons. Speed, an arm, and the toughest QB in the nation. Not a little sissy like Colt McCoy. If Mcgee stays the same, then no. Mcfadden will Most likely win it with another great season.

It is hardest to win when it is his to lose. He would need a strong start to get the hype going, and a very strong finish. If he has a couple of average games, they better be somewhere around games 5 or 6 of the season.
I personally think Mike Hart of Michigan will win it.
