Not only would I save my child, but if my spouse was put in this situation, I would insist that she save our child instead of me.
I've been on this planet for 41 years, and they've been good ones. I hope and pray for many more. However, if that is not to be, I have had a good life. I have had my turn. My 10 and 5 year olds have not had the opportunity and deserve it more than I.

That depends on which of the two had a better chance of being saved! Although, I tend to lean more toward my child over spouse (if married). This would be a very tough decision in reality and no matter the outcome, I would be scarred for life!!!
However, a couple can always have another child/more children together....
On the other hand, one can always find another spouse and have children together.
Having said all that, it still would be heart-breaking and traumatizing... losing my own child (my own blood) would be the most devasting (negatively speaking) thing that could ever happen to me, to be honest... I would feel the pain of my child's (losing a parent) as well as my own pain if it were the other way around!
That same pain would result in a child if caught up in that situation. It's a no win situation!

I would save my children, hands down. For those who said they would save their spouse, need to think about this. Alot of marriages do not survive the loss of a child. I know two couples who have lost a child, and they didnt last very long. The grieving is too much and can get in the way of a healthy marriage.

The child. Who in their right mind would let a child die. Your spouse has had a life but the child is just starting to live... So tell your spouse that the correct answer is the child..

I would definitely say that I would save my child...If I was the spouse that needed to be saved and it was between that happening and my daughter's I would want my spouse to save my daughter instead of me.

I have to say, you are "supposed" to put your husband before your children...most people (mostly women) disagree with this. But in your vows it says "forsaking all others" and that means your children too. However, if I had to save my spouse or my kids, I'd save my kids - hands down. And I hope he'd do the same, save the kids.

You should save your child first and the the spouse. Part of being of parent is being able to make sacrafices for your children.

You know that is one tough question! I hope I don't ever have to choose. Well, I know my husband would choose the kids over me first because he is a good father. I know he loves me, and I love him; I have to choose huh? Well, I don't want to choose, but if I must I will look at my husband first and then run for my child, hoping that i will save them both. I pray to GOD that he will grant me strenght that I will be able to keep of them everyday!

Wow - tough question. I would have to say my kids simply because I know that's what my spouse would want me to do. He has led a good life and I know that providing the opportunity for his children to survive and go on to lead good lives would be most important to him. I love him and my children, and I think that would be the way to make them all as happy as possible in a situation like that.

I absolutely adore my husband, but i couldn't live without my children, and lets face it, whether we like it or not you can move on and find a new partner if you want! You could never replace your child, nothing else compares to the love you should have for them!xx
