Monitors do not produce radiation. (Other than visible light.)

Your eyes are tired because you are staring at an object all day. Stare at a newspaper all day and the same thing will happen.

If you have a CRT, make sure that the refresh rate is at least 75 Hz, preferably 85 Hz. Low refresh rates on CRTs produce flicker which can cause headaches and some eye strain.

LCDs do not flicker, so the refresh rate should be at 60 Hz.

Do not spend your entire day staring at anything. You strain the muscles that focus your eyes and you do not blink enough to keep them moist.

Every few minutes sit back, stretch, look away, close your eyes for a second. Every hour or two get up, walk somewhere (coffee/tea/water/bathroom/somewhere)

If you are constantly hunched over the screen, then make the font larger, or change the DPI setting in Windows so that you can comfortably read the screen while sitting in a normal position.
