Funny, but not true. A marriage is what you make of it, if you want a great marriage. You can have a great marriage. These are remedies for a great marriage.
1. There should only be three in your marriage You, Your mate, and God, not mothers fathers, friends etc.
2. Have deep respect for one another,
3. Except each others differences, (you cannot change that person, if you go in a marriage thinking that you're already in trouble)
4. Work HARD HARD HARD AT THE MARRIAGE, marriage is like a job the harder you work the more you get out of it, put it this way if you go to work and put in overtime, you get a great pay, if you put in quality time in your marriage you get a great marriage,.
Set aside time to spend with each other even if it's for one hour.
5. Tell each other how much you love and appreciate them and really mean it.
Marriage is never perfect but it you get married with the reality that it will have some bad times as well as good, you will not look for perfection from that person when you're not perfect yourself.

FALSE!!! A great marriage requires two people who are deeply in love, and can communicate with each other with out fighting. Two people who share in all the responsibilities, whether that is cooking, cleaning, paying the bills, or raising the children. This answer is from a man, and I had such a marriage, until I lost my to a car accident.
