Gonzales was in a holding position for a Supreme Court nomination. This is now out of the question. The administration will try to weather this storm, try to wait for it to pass and then Gonzales will put in his resignation "for personal reasons", get a high paid lobbying job to carry through the rest of the Bush presidency, and then just fade away.
This administration does not accept responsibility for misuse of power.

Now that McNulty has resigned Gonzo has a scape goat to blame everything on. Last week Gonzo had no recollection. It looks like his memory is back and he now remembers it was McNulty who did all the firings.

Well, considering that the decisions to fire these prosecutors were made when Ashcroft was Attorney General - you did know that, right? - it should be quite apparent to all that he really had very little to do with the firings.
The decision to replace them was made while Ashcroft was AG, and Gonzales as WH counsel likely did not have anything to do with those decisions.
That's why it is so ludicrous for the Dems to rant and rave about him not knowing - because he wasn't involved in it.

Who cares? The President ordered the firings just like your Boss can order you to be fired. You have a puny memory like most Democrats. Your guy Clinton fired 93 Federal Prosecutors before he and the Dyke Janet Reno ordered the killing of 68 people including 20 children at WACO TX. We know just a coincidence Right! And its OK because you FORGOT!

Of course he is a liar, he is a Bush cronie. It goes without saying that anyone who works for Bush is a liar.
So I guess now they have their scapegoat and the "liberal media" will let this scandal die a quiet death too.

maybe if the dems spent a little more time dealing with the problems americans put them in office for, at little more may get accomplished. i worry more about healthcare and social security than i do about alberto firing 6 people who were doing a poor job. the dems have let their 100 day plan fade away, don't you think? hence the poor approval rating. maybe they have a plan B that doesn't involve wasting taxpayer dollars on trivial politics.

Gonzales is a "no talent ********" to borrow the phrase from Office Space. it is a joke and it is insulting that they expect us to believe it, and it is sad that we have to take it and there's nothing that will be done about it.
the beauty of this administration is Zero accountability.
