In modern society, there is currently sufficient food and transportation facilities to feed everyone on earth.

Greed, politics, prejudice, laziness, and apathy causes thousands of people to die of starvation.

If we loved our neighbors as much a we loved ourselves or, even more, we loved one another as Jesus loved us then no one would die of starvation.

Therefore in today's world, famine is a moral wrong.

With love in Christ.

Famine, in and of itself, is not morally wrong. Suffering from famine does not constitute sin.

Having said that, it is a sin to ignore the plight of those who do suffer from famine. The Christian virtue of charity is what compels us to help those in need.

Some of these acts of charity are summed up quite nicely in what are known as the Corporal Works of Mercy:

Feed the starved
Give drink to the thirsty
Clothe the naked
Shelter the homeless
Visit the imprisoned
Visit the sick
Bury the dead

As you can see, providing the hungry and thirsty with food and drink are right at the top. There are many ways in which we can help sustain the hugry and thirsty. One popular way is to volunteer one's own time, go to a shelter and literally feed the hungry. Another way is to provide financial support for such shelters, so that they can purchase the food they will prepare for the needy.

Famine is a among the unfortunate human conditions that the human race will contend with until the end of time, which is why those of us with means should always keep in mind those that do not.

I think you have the word wrong. "Famine" means a lack of food, caused by poor weather, crop disease, etc. It can't be morally right or wrong. That's like asking why a hurricane is moral or catholic.

It's not wrong for it to happen. It's an act of God.

People who force people to starve on the other hand... Isn't it obvious why that's wrong?
