Stated another way What is Philosophy and Who can be a Philosopher? Does Philosophy necessarily have to be deep and profound?

In general, a philosophy may be simple and plain.

"Philosophy is the discipline concerned with the questions of how one should live (ethics); what sorts of things exist and what are their essential natures (metaphysics); what counts as genuine knowledge (epistemology); and what are the correct principles of reasoning (logic)."

Officially, a philosopher must have studied philosophy on an academic level.

Historically, philosophers were supposed to be the true leaders of society. On one condition: they had to accept the dogma. Then they could give leadership to their society.

First of all what do you mean by "what Black people refer to as their motto"? I have a personal philosophy to judge people by their conscious deeds and actions and not by the color of their skin. My motto among my personal friends who are of many different cultural backgrounds is, "respect and honor". If you think that all Black people have the same motto just because they have the same color skin, well that makes you quite the ignorant one.

Philosophy is the love of knowledge, a priori or a posteriori. I do not think that anyone can be a philosopher but anyone can philosophize about something. It doesn't necessarily have to be deep or profound it just usually is.

If we take the whole history of philosophy, the systems reduce themselves to a few main types wich under all the technical verbiage in wich the ingenious intellect of man envelopes them, are just so many visions, modes of feeling the whole push, and seeing the whole drift of life, forced on one by ones total character an experiance, and on the whole preferred- there is no other truthful word- as ones best working attitude....Im talking about people of radical idiosyncracys, tempermental thinkers.most of us have no very definite intellectual temperment we are a mixture of opposite ingredients, each one present very moderatly. we hardly know our own preferences in abstract matters some of us are easly talked out of them and end by following the fashion or taking up with the beliefs of the most impressive philosopher in our neighborhood, who ever he may be.....and as for black people its the same for everyone philosophers come in all races.
