Pessimism because if something does go right it's a nice surprise.

Complication - because simplicity is close to ignorance.

How meaningful could the life of a 4 year old child be compared to that of an old person?

1 - idealism; you're probably going to be frequently disappointed, but at least you can recognize the high points when they happen

2 - simplicity; much less headache, leaves more time for the "better" things in life

3 - meaningful but short - I'd rather make good use of my time than have a whole lot of nothing and end up a bitter old cynic

A meaningless, long life

With pessimism, you are either always right or pleasantly surprised.

Complication tends to be more interesting.

I think I would rather live really long, whether or not it has meaning.
