Depends on the type of catfish. That's almost like asking what do people eat, italian food, mexican food, frech food or Chinese food? personally, I like all of it, food is food and food is good :D But seriously, it really does depend on the type of catfish. If you can indicate what kind you mean we can fill you in on it's diet.

As MM pointed out it does depend. Most catfish will browse on stuff sitting at the bottom of the tank. Usually shrimp pellets and veggie matter go over well. All my catfish enjoy zucchini. However some are strictly carnivorous and some will only eat live food, like many of your shovel nose for example.

Okay, well first off, think about how many fish you already have in your aquarium. If u have alot, and they are pretty dirty and/or poop a lot and stuff, u don't really need to go out and waste money to buy food for catfish. If you dont have many fish in ur fish tank, and its always really clean and poop free and everything, i suggest algae wafers or "Sinking Wafers" from "Hikari", which is specially made for catfish and other bottom feeders. Personally, i never really have to care much about my catfishes diet because it eats practically everything.

Depends on the type of Catfish.

Cories are scavengers, and will eat just about anything that sinks to the bottom.

Plecos are also Catfish, and are considered algae eaters. They will eat any type of veggie/green.

So specify the type of Catfish.

Better question yet, what won't they eat, besides old bed springs and rusty automobile fenders?
