I hope this is a joke.

Jerry Falwell did everything he could to subjugate anyone who wasn't a white, straight Christian.

I do not think that Rosa Parks received a state funeral. She may have had a very PROMINENT funeral, attended by many contemporary and former leaders of state, but I don't think it was paid for by the government. There probably will be/already are many monuments and memorials errected in her honor with state funds, but that is another issue entirely.

Let's see how many dignitaries show up at Mr. Falwell's funeral. More importantly, let's see how much $$$ is appropriated at the state and national levels for memorials and monuments to Mr. Falwell's everlasting glory.

The fact of the matter is that Rosa parks is an American hero and icon. She gave birth to the civil rights movement when she stood up for justice and freedom. Jerry Falwell was a two-bit huckster who stole from the gullible and preached pure, unadulterated hate. I do not see the relevant comparison. One walked in Jesus's footsteps (Parks for the historically challenged), the other in Satan's...

No . It should probably be handled by his people right there at Liberty University. Just because Rosa Parks got one doesn't have any thing to do with Falwell , however I don't believe Parks should have had one either.

Absolutely not. Jerry Falwell was in favor of taking away civil rights from anyone who didn't believe the same things he believed. To compare him to Rosa Parks is a horrible insult to Rosa Parks, her family, and her legacy.

Falwell did many good & bad things in his life. But a state funeral is a waste of time and tax payer money. So that would be a big NO.

You can't blame Falwell enough, that Nazi tried to drive this beautiful country into the ground.

Like an article said perfectly- "The religious right has done so much harm to scientific progress throughout history and never, ever have they apologized for it."

I'll dance on his grave if I get a chance, this is a great day for America! Its time people seen as leaders in this country stop brainwashing people for their own selfish causes. Just my $0.02...

There are a couple thousand US soldiers killed in Iraq defending our freedom that deserve a state funeral more than Falwell. And if there IS a state funeral, I'll be too busy to watch it anyway.
