You go to hardware store and ask for a dryer vent filter.

It is typically called a "lint trap". It looks like a small bucket with holes in lid. The bucket holds water, which catches the lint. Some models of 'lint traps' are made to be vented inside the home (really handy in winter), and some can be run on to the outside vents.

You should be aware that running this type of vent, and not venting it outside will raise the humidity, and temperature in the room where the dryer is located...possibly even the entire floor level it is located.

It is NOT difficult to run a vent to the outside. You can go through the wall, or through the floor...all of the necessary parts can be purchased right off the shelf. While you are at the store looking for a lint trap, ask about the parts you would need to just go ahead and run the vent to the outside.

You could put some sort of lint filter or lint trap on it, but I wouldn't run it inside the house. The hot air would be a pain to deal with, and the moisture would make it really humid too.

It's an indoor dryer lint catcher.
