You know like 4^ but the ^ being a 2

Do you mean like this: x²?

Hold down the ALT key, and type 0178. When you release the ALT key, it will show up. ALT 0179 is cubed (x³).

Or you could use Character Map and scroll through to find it.

That is a superscript character. See if your word processor supports it. In Yahoo answers or other basic text programs, type 4^2 for 4 squared.

well if you just want to write it, like as using microsoft word, go to insert, then symbols and the power will be in there...is that what youre using or a computer programming application?
