Since the current US system doesn't cover those with the most pressing need for health care?

That is a good point. Unfortunately, the people that are too poor to go to the doctor and get medical care are also too poor to go overseas to seek medical care. Basically, if you're a poor American with medical needs, you're out of luck.

It is not OK to sneak Cuban cigars across the Canadian border. This is drug trafficking and is against the law. The Canadians would not like it if we sent all of our poor to get health care in Canada since they pay outrageously high taxes to pay for their health care system. Universal Health Care IS NOT free, someone has to pay for it.

I think you answered your own question when you wrote sneaked. It's not OK to sneak Cuban cigars across the border just like it's not OK for our people to go to Cuba for health care. Both are illegal.

Do you mean when Bill Clinton was President he was caught on Surveilance tape buying Cuban cigars while visiting another country? I wonder if he knew that the U.S. had an embargo on Cuban products?

If the health care in this country is so terrible, then why is that pregnant women by the thousands are sneaking into this country to have their babies in our hospitals?

Have said it before and I will say it again. If you can't afford medical insurance, then just tell the doctor in the ER that you're from Mexico! You'll get the best medical care in the world and a pat on the back as you walk out.

Is it OK? I thought that was totally illegal, like drug trafficking or something. I'm not American, so I have been to Cuba, and actually got a full physical check up there. Cost me 200 US, and it was really worth it--and much better than the health care here in the UK (it is just a disease management centre--nothing much done in the way of health checks and prevention).

They are afraid Americans will find out that anti communism is a fraud. Socialism and Communism are per definition the politics of the working man. If Americans knew that the ones oppressing them are not commies or islamofascists but their own government and the rich, they would take the path of Huey P Newton. The US gov. is afraid that its gig is up. If only Americans knew how much solidarity there is out there for them, that those who clamor "death to America" are only mad at their government. But your government does not want you to know....

If the Cuba Health care system is so great why did Castro hire a Doctor from Spain to do his surgery. Both by the way are illegal resulting from embargo's set forth by our country.

The same with buying Rx drugs in other countries, The US government doesn't want others thinking that the US does not care abou their citizens.

I think Michael Moore was just trying to prove a point that people can get free quality healthcare especially in Cuba.
