Why is there people in the world getting pegnant at a early age?

Like there's over 100's of people at the age of 14 having babies is it because their mother don't care about them or what they do?

Because they don't think they need birth control. Society is pushing children to have sex earlierand earlier all the time. 30 years ago, being a virgin in university was no big deal, now being a virgin past grade 7 is something kids worry about. They just don't get that they can get pregnant the first time, or before they are 16. And their parents don't want to believe that little 12 year old suzy and johnny are actually having sex, just like their singer and actor idols are

I don't know but it's not because they aren't educated enough. I'm 16 and I have a 2 month baby girl shes my world. I have been properly educated the reason people get pregnant at a young age is SEX, quite honestly everyone wants to do it and some people are just unlucky.

I don't think that their mother's caring about them really is the only reason girls are getting pregnant at a young age. There are many different factors and the question should be more directed at our society as Americans and why we don't promote sex until a later age. Instead of just saying sexs sells and forgetting that children are watching and listening. That's a better question.

Lack of education is more than likely a reason~ but I recently read that its believed by scientists that the teenage brain doesnt work the same as an adults, the part of the brain that deals with empathy and consequences just doesnt work in teenagers! Which would explain why they know having sex leads to babies but do it anyway! ... I know at that age I didnt give damn about consequences!

Its really only been this century and the industrial revolution where women started having later births. It used to be - and in many other cultures, typical to be married in your teens and having children.

The young women who are now having babies, I think, basically do need role models to encourage them what they can do if they wait to have children, and you look at women in the media from Mia Hamm to those on CSI and Greys Anatomy and you see strong women role models, who may not have gotten where they are such as surgeons (or it would be alot lot tougher) if they have a teen pregnancy and raised the child themselves.

i believe it because of their hormones. young kids these days think about one thing and you know what im talking about. they have no respect for themselves or for others. they dont believe that its hard to raise a child when your 20 so imagine raising a child at the age og 14. It could also be that their parents let them do what ever they want so they'll think its ok to have to be sexually active and my parents wont care if i have a baby because they let me do anything.

Hey a 100 years ago it was fine, actually it was the only way to make sure you had a kid that lived. I think its cause they think it the thing to do, they are in love after all.

I think most of the people pregnant at that age are ignorant of birth control methods and don't really mean to be pregnant...it just happens. I want to start trying to get pregnant soon and I'm 19.

Stop asking this question. You know you can look at people's answers from similar questions, and this one has been posted a million times!!! If you are so concerned about it, pursue this through education....maybe then you could do something about it since you seem so passionate about it.

I would say because 14 year old girls aren't using the proper protection becuase they are embarrassed to tell their mothers they are having sex.
