I have had numerous eye operations to correct squints in both eyes. The last three sets of ops were carried out under local anaesthetic. And they did move one eye out of its socket, by a few millimetres. I could not see anything, however, as my pupil had been dilated with atropine.
So, yes it can be - and is done - and I agree with James, you cannot see.

Ask Ernie "Swirvin" Ervin. He popped an eye out when he hit the wall in a race car. I think he lost his vision in that eye though. He may not be the best person to ask then. My answer. depends on how much damage you do. Try it out and let us all know.

i would think u could as long as all the cornea and all the bloodvessels were ok, i would maybe and i dont probably not fair down the face......ask a eye doctor though they would probly have an idea.... and i have heard stoies of people losing their eye and in surgey puting the eye back in place, and the patient didnt as great of eye sight out of that eye but could still see.... plus when u did it u probably couldnt see because ur brain would turn the eye off sorta, because of all the trama to the eye.....

If its still attached to the optic nerve, it can still see. Obviously under anaesthetic, otherwise shock would render a person unconscious having their eye gouged out.........wow weired question

it hangs out about 2 inches, it doesn't work either until they put it back in, and then it may have severe damage.
